Erin Sharp holds a Master’s Degree in Architecture from UCLA, and a Masters in Design from the Domus Academy in Milan, Italy. Her exposure ranges all areas of design, from architecture to industrial design to the fine arts. She has worked for many years between Italy, Los Angeles, Philadelphia and New Jersey. With this worldly background she offers a wide range of knowledge and experience. Erin’s specific talent lies in being able to harness the vision and concepts of any particular project, helping to master both high quality and unique character.
Erin Sharp began developing ideas regarding “hybrid” environments at the Domus Academy. Her project “Domestic Factory” dealt with juxtaposed relationships between space, people, objects and life activities. Her project was further developed under the title “Family Business”, which was published for Phillips “Solid Side” and was exhibited at the Milan Trienalle. In subsequent years these ideas dealing with “hybrid-programming” were explored further through “New-Stories/New Design”, as well as through “Citizen-City” in projects exhibited during the Annual Milan Design Week.
For years she collaborated as a “Creative Director” along with Aldo Cibic and the Cibic & Partners Studio, (one of Italy’s leading Architecture & Design firms) utilizing her diverse background of architecture, design and art on architectural, industrial, interior and research based design projects, with focus on how design empowers how we live related to vicinities, space and form. Her ideas and work have been published and recognized internationally.
In obtaining her degree in Architecture from UCLA, Erin completed her thesis with Dagmar Richter, engaging issues of time and paradox in the built environment. She has years of professional practice experience from national architecture & engineering firms in architectural design, planning and interiors on medium to large-scale commercial and institutional projects. Her contributions have played a key role in having projects reach award-winning status. She has been involved with major architecture and design schools as juror and mentor. Design, integrity and creativity are fundamental to her multi-facetted process.
At present Erin is active in numerous pursuits within architecture, design, art and life.
